Quality Assurement Prickly Pear Seed Oil

 

Origin: Mexico is the cradle of Nopal. The Nopal and its fruits; The Tunas (prickly pears), have been an important part of the food and medicine of Mexicans since ancient times. A little more than 60% of the Mexican territory is arid, desert or semi-desert areas populated by cacti with a predominance of  nopal in various States such as Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Jalisco, Guanajuato, State of Mexico... Our Seed comes from prickly pears  harvested from Nopales Wild that have not been intervened by humans and keep their genetic heritage unaltered.

 

Prickly pear seed oil production: the process is very simple, the perfectly clean and dry certified organic prickly pear seed is subjected to a single cold pressing in a continuous press, thus obtaining an Extra virgin prickly pear seed oil, which is then It undergoes a series of special cleaning processes that allow us to obtain an extremely clean oil with all the wonderful qualities that nature gives it. The production of one liter of prickly pear seed oil requires 1000 kilograms of prickly pears, due to the very low oil content of the seeds.

 

Analysis for quality assurance

 

Seeds: The quality of the oil is a function of the quality of the seed.

We use certified organic prickly pear seed of the highest quality.

The moisture content is determined.

It is checked that it is free of foreign matter and does not present growth of fungi or pests.

We determine these parameters in our laboratory to ensure that we are going to obtain an oil of excellent quality.

 

Prickly pear seed oil: It must have an exceptional quality that provides customer confidence, this quality is reflected in adequate values ​​of:

-Peroxide Index

-Density

-Smoke point

-Sediments

-Volatile

-Color

-Smell

-Refractive index

We determine these values ​​and provide the client with a Certificate of Analysis with the specific values ​​of the corresponding batch of oil.

Our Prickly Pear Seed Oil is certified according to the organic regulations of the USDA, 7 CFR Part 205. As well as the organic regulations of the European Community established in article 29, section 1, of Regulation (EC) n° 834/2007 and of Regulation (EC) No. 889/2008, accredited by DAkkS.
